As we all know, libraries have many, MANY resources. It isn't just about the books anymore. I have seen libraries where you can borrow movies or magazines while others have wifi hot spots and telescopes! At your library you can print almost anything AND most libraries offer free classes!
There is so much to see and do INSIDE the library
but what about OUTSIDE?
Historically, libraries really try to make the space as inviting as possible. This effort has led to beautiful blooming trees, meticulously planned flower beds and benches for relaxing in the shade.
Even if your library is closed chances are
you can still use the wifi!
How about a story walk? Many libraries are taking poems or illustrated books and displaying their pages along a path. Story walks create a wonderful experience that people of all ages can enjoy. It is a terrific way to support your library and appreciate the written word in a brand new way!
Libraries take pride in the history and aesthetic of their buildings and the surrounding grounds. Usually, the library is in the center of town and often one of the first buildings to be established. It is a place for people to gather, to learn and to grow (I couldn't resist the pun!)
Summer is ideal for exploring the space
surrounding your library.
Maybe your library features a story walk? Maybe there is outdoor seating for concerts? A picnic spot? What about statues? Or a vegetable patch?
There is so much at your library!
Take a look! Hop to it!
